Groom-to-Be | Describe your experience with finding the perfect location for your proposal: I was looking for something with a view, preferably a beach view, knowing Aleen loves the beach.
With COVID-19, my options were much more limited. l did my research and went and checked out a few places. (Monarch, Four Seasons Laguna, Pelican Hill) The moment I saw Pelican Hill, I knew without hesitation that it was perfect!
Groom-to-Be | On a scale of 1-10 how nervous were you that day? At the beginning of the day I was at a 5. However, it increased as the time got closer.
Between being nervous about asking the big question and hoping everything is going to go as planned, I reached a solid 9 in the moment!
Bride-to-Be | Tell us about the day he asked you to marry him! The day he asked me to marry him was actually my 25th birthday, so I had no idea about what was going to happen!
The day he proposed, I thought that we were going to a casual lunch at the hotel with my parents. After lunch, we took a stroll around the property and then I saw the red roses underneath Pelican Hill Resort’s famous dome.
Even when I saw the roses, I didn't think it was set up for me. As we started walking closer and closer to the beautiful hillside, I finally realized what was happening!
Anthony stood beneath the beautiful dome, then got on one knee and the rest is history.
Tell us about your very first date! Anthony asked me out to dinner at the Nice Guy. We had a great time and I knew that it was the beginning of something special.
Groom-to-Be | What are your recommendations/tips for planning the perfect proposal? Some tips I have are to choose a beautiful location but also somewhere that is accommodating.
My second and most important tip is to BE PREPARED. Make sure everything is planned well so when the special day comes, everything goes smoothly.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends, family, and someone like Rene, who helped me with everything from beginning to end. Rene reassured me through it all that everything would go as planned, thank you Rene and his amazing team!
Bride-to-Be | Tell us the exact moment you realized he was about to ask you to marry him: The exact moment I realized that he was about to ask me to marry him was when he started walking towards the dome. I thought it was setup for another event, but once we got closer, I finally put it all together!
Bride-to-Be | Tell us about the gorgeous ring!: My ring... the best part of it all! My dad made my ring. With Anthony's design ideas and my dads eye for perfection, my ring is truly magnificent.
What are you most excited about in regards to planning your wedding? I think we are the most excited about announcing our wedding venue. It is something we have been working hard on and are looking forward to sharing the location with all of our friends and family. Let’s just say, it is very unique!
