A Message From The Bride

Describe your experience with wedding planning: Don't worry over the little details. The one thing I learned from my wedding planning experience is that everyone is going to give their own opinion, whether asked for or not.

Wedding planning brings out the best in those closest to you and sometimes it does not - it's important to keep a level head and always be positive.

After all is said and done, your wedding is a day of celebration and one of the most important days in your life, so don't let the little things take away from how special it’s supposed to be!

Your vendors will become your best friends, so it's important to choose them not only based off their skill, but their personalities and how you mesh together.

The relationship you have with your vendors, such as venue, photo/video, florist, DJ, can make the biggest difference on your wedding day.

Describe your experience with finding your wedding gown: Our entire theme, from the color of our flowers, our venue, the location of our wedding shoot was very whimsical, even with our 1950’s Hollywood theme, so it was quite easy to find the style of gown I was looking for.

Remember, before you pick your vendors, have a few conversations with them so you are all aligned in terms of your vision and goal. This is key!

I chose to have two dresses for my big day. The first one was something a little more traditional for the ceremony, but changed into something a bit sultrier gown for the reception.

How did you meet? We met through mutual friends! They say the best way to meet someone is through mutual friends because your friends have your best interest at heart, and I truly believe this!

Every relationship goes through challenges and obstacles, but ultimately if it is made to be, your love will be unbreakable and stronger than you can imagine. Garen is my best friend and I am his!

Describe the moment he proposed: My now husband, Garen, had made these exuberant plans about a house warming party that we had to attend, with a special black and white theme. On our way in the Uber, we had to make a quick stop to “pick” something up; I thought nothing of it, but as soon as we were about to enter this storefront in Echo Park, he had me put on a blindfold.

I still had no idea what was going on, we went in a room with his assistance as I could not see anything, and when he took off my blindfold, I was surrounded by hundreds of pink/white/silver balloons on the floor and ceiling, and our favorite song, "Qez Ksirem" by Tigran Asatryan was playing in the background.

He pulled me close, told me how much he loved me, and got down on one knee and proposed to me. I could not believe it, and kept saying, “nooo, nooo, you’re kidding, nooo”, It was the most memorable moment of my life, and I still have chills every time I think about it.

Interesting facts about the wedding or couple: Our wedding was the best night of our lives! When we were in the nitty gritty of wedding planning, my husband wanted to make sure our wedding was not only a celebration, but a thank you to everyone that was there for us standing by our sides during our relationship.

At our wedding ceremony, when we were saying our vows, it was such a beautiful thing to see saw faces we had not seen in years, all who were there just for us. This is something we will cherish forever.

Wedding Reception Design Theme: We wanted our photo session to be whimsical, and fair-tale like, but wanted our celebration to be dramatic, romantic, with a touch of 1950's. We started out at Huntington Library, which was the perfect venue for our wedding photos, and at Bella Blanca we chose the crystal room because of their dance-floor, which fit perfectly with our 1950's Hollywood theme.

The checkered dance-floor is awesome, comes stock with the venue, and was the perfect complement to our dramatic and romantic flower theme

There are way too many memorable moments to share them all. Every part of the day was special in its own way, but as soon as we had our grand entrance and entered our reception, now that is when the party really started!

I would say the most memorable was when Tigran Asatryan arrived at 10pm and sang "Qez Ksirem" and started his 90 minute live performance. As we are multi-cultural, our wedding was not really the traditional Armenian wedding's and the dancing and celebration did not start until 10pm. Qez Ksirem by Tigran Asatryan is a very sentimental song for us, we first heard it about three years ago when he performed it live at a wedding, and it immediately became "our song".

My husband proposed to me with this song playing in the background, so when we finally got to hear Tigran Asatryan sing it live in front of us, there was a whirlwind of emotions for the both of us. It really set the tone of the entire night, and to be honest, was the best wedding ever!

No bias here, but if you were there, you would agree with me, heck, even Tigran Asatryan said he had never been to a wedding that was this fun and energetic.

Before our big day, we had been to many weddings together, and we really wanted ours to not only look but feel different. I think by the end of the night, we knew that we had achieved our vision!
