Whimsical Timeless Wedding at Saddlerock Ranch
Wedding in Los Angeles
Hovsep & Tina
Describe your experience with wedding planning during the pandemic: Our original wedding date was September 12, 2020 same location and vendors. Due to the pandemic and the safety of our loved ones we postponed the wedding.
What we didn't postpone was our marriage. We kept our original date, drove out to Santa Barbara and got married in the court!
In hindsight that was the most beautiful day for us. It was very intimate. Planning a wedding is extremely stressful but doing it without knowing if the day will actually come is even more stressful!
Describe your experience with finding your wedding gown: When I started looking for dresses I knew what I wanted. I knew if the dress looks right and feels right to me, that's all I needed!
I actually tried on three different dresses but was sold on this one right away!
When I went in for my dress fitting I took my sister and mom to be apart of the traditional "wedding dress" try on moment.
How did you meet? Hovsep and I met almost 10 years ago at a computer shop. He was there to have lunch with his friend and I was there to pick up my girlfriend.
We chatted for awhile and surprisingly he was asking me if the date night he was planning for a first date was a cute idea.
Describe the moment he proposed: Hovsep had been on a work trip to Wales for a week, when he had gotten back the next morning he wanted to drive to Palm Springs.
I knew he was excited to see me as I was to see him... but thought, "Isn't he tired or jet lagged?" He insisted on driving out and spending Memorial Weekend together!
He didn't want to use the pool because he knew me getting my hair wet hours before my proposal would be a horrible idea. Dinner reservations were at 4 Saints at the Rowan Kimpton Hotel.
The hostess apologized that our table was given to another party and walked us over to a different location of the hotel. It was a private room decorated with white rose petals and white orchids.
I had mentioned to Hovsep that my favorite movie is The Great Gatsby and the scene where Daisy walks in to meet Gatsby for tea was the most romantic thing I had ever seen.
When the doors opened and I saw the champagne, the city views, and beautiful orchids I knew "THIS IS HAPPENING!" He had perfectly planned every detail. I had not seen a room with more beautiful flowers. He had hired a photographer and had hand picked every furniture in the room. It was the most thoughtful and emotional night.
What are your favorite moments of your wedding day?: My favorite moment of the wedding was when I walked out to reveal my dress and bridal look to Hovsep. His face brought me calmness and peace.
His favorite moment was the same. He was happy to know with everyone else around us and all the noise, everything just stopped and it was just us two in front of each other.
It can be overwhelming with all the excitement and anxiety the day of and it was nice to see us look into each other's eyes and feel like "We got this, you're the reason why everyone's here celebrating ."
Another favorite moment was seeing our venue. We had envisioned every detail and to see the end result and how we made our dream wedding a reality was another beautiful moment.
Wedding Reception Design Inspiration : We really wanted The Great Gatsby kind of theme with Chandeliers, falling string light from trees, all white roses, open bar and formal attire.
Wedding Reception Design Theme: We wanted a Whimsical Timeless Elegance Wedding, and that is just what we got at Saddlerock Ranch!
Highlighting the scenery of the venue with the cocktail hour with vineyards, wooden swings and the sun setting. Everything was simple when it came to the look but yet elegant.
Interesting facts about the wedding or couple: We always knew we wanted an outdoor whimsical elegant wedding.
We had found Saddlerock Ranch online and was the first venue we visited!
We enjoyed the wine tastings and handpicking each wine to be served at the reception and cocktail hour.
We had been planning a wedding for 2 years and somehow we had a million and one things to do four days leading to the date!
Any advice you have about wedding planning in 2020?: At the end of the day, all your vendors are trying to do their best. Be very clear and honest with your photographer. Photos and videos will be all the memories that will live on.
We are both extremely thankful for Rene and his entire team. Such a positive and professional group of people. He knew when we weren't feeling a pose or when we needed just a min to breathe, he was completely understanding and gave us everything we wanted and more.
