A message from the bride

Describe your experience with finding the perfect location for your PreWedding Session: We were both in the Bridal Party for a good friends wedding 4 years ago when our relationship started becoming very serious. The day of wedding photos were taken at Pasadena City Hall and we both fell in love with the architecture as it reminded us so much of Florence!

We knew that when our day would come, we wanted to take our PreWedding photos there to relive the memories from that glorious day, except that this would then be the precursor to our own Wedding day! We were also excited to shoot here because we had the perfect wardrobe ideas for both the City Hall and Urban Pasadena Streets!

What are your recommendations/tips for couples before/during their PreWedding Session?: Stretch, make sure you are hydrated, and have a good nights sleep. Rene is not kidding when he says photo shoots can take a lot out of you. Though a lot of FUN, once it was all said and done I felt like I had just completed 3 hours of cardio!

What was your favorite part about your session?: Sitting on the ledge on the 2nd floor to capture that perfect shot during sunset. It was definitely nerve-wrecking, but the final result was worth it!

Describe the moment he proposed!: My fiance’ Garen had made these exuberant plans about a house warming party that we had to attend, with a special black and white theme. On our way in the Uber, we had to make a quick stop to “pick” something up; I thought nothing of it, but as soon as we were about to enter this storefront in Echo Park, he had me put on a blindfold.

I still had no idea what was going on, we went in a room with his assistance as I could not see anything, and when he took off my blindfold, I was surrounded by hundreds of pink/white/silver balloons on the floor and ceiling, and our favorite song, Qez Ksirem by Tigran Asatryan was playing in the background. He pulled me close, told me how much he loved me, and got down on one knee and proposed to me. I could not believe it, and kept saying, “nooo, nooo, you’re kidding, nooo”, It was the most memorable moment of my life, and I still have chills every time I think about it.

Tell us about your very first date!: Since I was young when we started dating, I had to lie to my parents that I was spending the night at my sisters house in Aliso Viejo, and he would come pick me up at 9am in the morning and we would have day-dates. We would always go to Laguna Beach or Dana Point, and in that summer we probably went to every single mall and shopping center in Orange County. Our first date was in Newport Beach, and we went to the Balboa Island and finished the date off with yummy lunch from Banderas.

Interesting/fun facts about the couple or session: The session was fun! But so tiring; Even though we’ve been involved in many weddings as part of the Bridal Party, it is a completely different beast when you are the main attraction. What’s great is how natural Rene is in capturing the perfect moments without looking too stiff or fake. He would make us laugh as we were taking pictures which would capture the moment perfectly.

What are you most excited about for your upcoming wedding?: It’s finally our turn! After countless weddings as guests, and through all the trials and tribulations, we are thankful and blessed that our big day is finally here! Our wedding day is really the result of our commitment to God, and the support and love we’ve received from our family and friends throughout the years. It definitely wasn’t easy, but it really makes our marriage even more special.
